Working together on your mandate in a pre-agreed time frame, we will find and contact relevant candidates ensuring only those that fit your corporate ethos and role requirements are put forward to you for consideration. Search Initiation

This is the start to the search process and it is imperative that we spend sufficient time with you defining your exact project requirements. We'll want to discuss expectations you have of the individual, key skills and criteria for success as well as understand why the talent is not being sourced internally. We will in turn advise and provide an objective critique on the envisioned process and the relative strengths and weaknesses of the likely talent pool through our experience and market expertise.

Research 

Having agreed which organisations to target, our consultants and research team will work quickly to comprehensively map the candidate universe, using existing data and a variety of on and offline tools. We discreetly draw upon our extensive network of contacts in the industry to reference and validate our research. Our timescales will be driven purely by the requirements of the specific mandate and client, but we are able to typically deliver to a deadline of around two weeks due to subject matter expertise.

Selection and Evaluation Process

We discuss our findings with you and together we agree on a preferred shortlist of targets to approach. This shortlist will be approached and interviewed by the mandated Hutton consultant, and the best candidates submitted for formal interview with you. We will work with you throughout to ensure transparency, timely and thorough feedback from all parties and a smooth and expeditious process.

Offer Management and Exit Process

The most crucial part in any search is the effective management of the offer and resignation process. When you have identified your preferred candidate we will work closely with you to ensure that they accept the position. We will have prepared the successful candidate for every eventuality, and will take an active role in supporting them through their resignation process.

Post-Employment

We remain in contact with both parties to ensure that the integration process is successful. Hutton maintain a very strong track record of long average tenure from our placements, and we set great stall by the long term success of our introductions.

How it works in practice

A US client was looking to hire a Head of Europe to rebuild their local presence following a significant loss of key staff and an attendant loss of revenue. Following an approach from their Head of Human Resources, we undertook market research into their business and found that there was a significant gap between the actual culture of the firm and the perception of them in the market. Equally it was evident their advisors to date had not given the parent objective feedback over these issues, nor properly informed them as to some of the idiosyncrasies of the local market. Having delivered this feedback, we worked together to create a message to market and agreed on an approach and detailed research process. Hutton were able to produce a compelling shortlist in an agreed, and tight, timeline, and were able to close the preferred candidate against five competing offers from larger, and more high profile firms. Our hire revolutionised the European business and added significant value to the enterprise value of the firm.
